  • AUDITION CLASS/DRAMA CLASSES & ACTING COURSES

We have changed the format of our Drama classes. Our Junior Workshop is going from strength to strength we only have a couple of places left in this class. We are working towards our next Presentation Evening, which will be on Monday 7th December 2009 6.15pm to 7.15pm. All Parents are welcome.
Our Monday Senior Workshop is from 7.15pm – 8.15pm. The students are working towards performing for their parents at their next Presentation Evening on Monday 7th December 2009 7.15pm – 8.15pm. 
All Drama Workshop Students have a Drama Uniform if you need to order the Uniform please speak to Christine or Barbara. Drama students must also wear the correct footwear for their Workshop Class. Black Pumps or Black Jazz Shoes not Designer Boots or Trainers.

  • NEW POLICY

As from Grade 1 Class upwards all pupils will have to attend Dance Classes twice weekly if they want to continue taking Exams. 

Pre School, Prep, Primary Classes can attend classes once a week but if they want to take a Dance Exam, must attend extra classes prior to their exam.

We do advise parents that it is more beneficial if children attend twice weekly, the benefits are, it improves self esteem, builds confidence, increases fitness levels, discipline, and helps create & develop their overall dance techniques.
  • LAMDA Acting Exams

Our LAMDA Acting Class is on a Tuesday 6.30pm – 7.30pm the students in these classes work towards taking Acting Exams.  These classes are ideal for the student who wants to improve their confidence and work on the necessary skills needed to perform to a live audience.  The students can also obtain points towards College & University on the Medal Lamda Exams Bronze, Silver & Gold.

  • SCREEN ACTING TECHNIQUES COURSE

We are proud to offer our pupils an exclusive Course designed for students

Who would like to progress and develop the necessary screen techniques to work towards achieving a successful career as an actor in the Screen Industry.

The Course is geared towards acting in the Film & Television Industry.  We aim to nurture your skills and help you achieve your goals through practical experience and putting you through your paces on camera.

The course consists of audition situations the do’s & don’ts, covering characterisation, breaking down scripts, working on preparation and delivery in front of camera.  The end result is a produced Film, all students can purchase their own Show Reel on a DVD at the end of the Course!

This is an opportunity for each pupil not to miss! Please contact Christine & Barbara for further details.

10 students completed our first film course which was held at our studios in Farnworth during the Easter Holidays.  With the help of Professional Actor/Teacher Paul Hine Scriptwriter Becky Prestwich & Cameraman/Producer Gino Evans.The students produced a short film called ''The Common Room' .

  • STREET DANCE CLASSES

Our Street Dance Classes have moved to a Wednesday Evening 5.45pm – 6.30pm the first class is’ FREE’.  Bring a friend or relative along & join in the fun.

The Class is £4.50. Sorry about the changes but we have had to move some Dance classes!
  • ADULT SALSA DANCE CLASSES FOR AUTUMN

We are continuing with our regular Adult Salsa/Latino Class.

Please call or register your name for our next Salsa/Latino course.

The course is £20.00 for four weeks /Concessions £16.00
  • SINGING COURSES

We are in the process of organising our next Singing Course for 2008.  If you are interested in taking part please speak to Christine or Barbara to register. 

If any of the pupils/students are interested in going to Drama/Performing Arts College, it is important they have their singing voice trained, to be multi skilled in Dance, Singing & Drama is vital in such a competitive industry. It is not enough to just study Drama or Dance especially if you are interested in pursuing a Musical Theatre Career.

Pop Idol Courses are for pupils who would like to learn the basics in vocal training and to learn how to develop their own sound, this results in a performance at the end of the course. 
  •  CHILDREN'S PARTIES
As from September the Dance Centre will be available on Thursdays, Fridays & Sundays for Children’s Dance Parties!

If you would like to hold your child/children’s parties at the Dance Centre please speak to Christine & Barbara for further details.
  • DANCE CENTRE’S FEES

The majority of our parents, relatives & guardians pay their Fees on time!  But we still have problems with some parents dropping children off at the dance centre and not paying their fees on time!! If you are late with your fees there is an Administration Fee (which is the cost of one class)

All Dance & Drama Fees are paid at the beginning of every month.  We cannot accept cheques without a Bankers Cheque Card we are still having the problem of cheques being returned from our Bank!!

It is extremely difficult for Christine & Barbara when we are very busy to chase Parents/Guardians for overdue fees. The policy at the school is we do not give any refunds for classes missed. (ie. Sickness, or Holidays etc..)  This Policy is clearly displayed in reception & on noticeboards.

  • UNIFORM, GOOD GROOMING AND HEALTH ISSUES

We have noticed in some of the classes pupils are not wearing the correct uniform i.e. coloured socks etc, coming to class with hair hanging and not tied back neatly for class.  We have also noticed some children’s uniform is not clean.  We must stress the importance of good grooming and cleanliness for health and safety reasons!   Will Parents NOT LEAVE DIRTY NAPPIES in the Public Toilet we do not have the facilities to dispose of them! 

All Drama Pupils must also attend their Classes in their Drama Uniform i.e. Polo Shirts, Jazz Pants & Boys Sweat Pants, Black trainers/pumps, long hair must be tied up for classes etc.  Cropped tops, skirts, fashion boots, fashion jewellery, make up etc are not acceptable for a Drama Class!

Chewing Gum is BANNED we have found chewing gum on chairs, stuck on walls, and on the banister rail on the staircase.  This is a HEALTH ISSUE! Please respect this policy.
  • NEW TRACKSUITS AND TOPS
We have a new supplier who has designed for our Dance Studio a new style Tracksuit, T-shirt & Vest. We have these displayed at the Dance Studio together with a price list. The tracksuits are made especially for each individual pupil. We need correct measurements when ordering the tracksuits, e.g. Chest, Hips, Inside Leg. Once you place your order the clothing cannot be exchanged if the size does not fit correctly! We have to place a maximum order of 12 items before we can order uniform! If you would like to order any of the above items please speak to Christine or Barbara.


Correct uniform once purchased must be worn for every class. If you are unsure what our policy is we have a uniform list displayed in the corridor. ALL Pupils & Students at the Dance Centre (DANCE CLASSES & DRAMA CLASSES) can purchase the clothing..
  • ORR MANAGEMENT AGENCY

If you would like to join our Casting Agency please speak to Christine or Barbara for further details.  If you need to re new your Licence for Modelling or Television there will be a small charge of £3.50 for your Licence to be processed. 

We have had news Shed Production are filming another Series of the successful ‘Waterloo Rd’ Drama which will continue from October 2009 through to May 2010!  If Drama students are interested in doing any ‘Extra Work’ please speak to Christine or Barbara.

We are also recruiting for ‘Real Families’ either Parents & Children or Brothers & Sisters.  If you are interested please speak to Christine & Barbara. 

Well Done to Libby Kirkpatrick from Grade 2/3 Dance Class & Junior Drama Workshop who secured a Role in Sainsbury’s Christmas Campaign Commercial with Jamie Oliver.

Ryan Gaskell from Senior Drama Workshop, who filmed in London & Devon his first lead Role ‘Thomas’ in a Short Film called ‘Thomas’ for Parkville Pictures.

Bethany Weatherall & Paige Hart from Senior Drama Workshop & Lamda Acting Exam Class auditioned for roles for BBC Radio in ‘The Wizard of Oz’.

We are awaiting news for Alex Banks from Junior Workshop who has been for a Recall for ‘Silent Movie’ Educational Programme for the BBC.

Shirley Stevens filmed her first Television Commercial for ‘Heinz’ in Manchester.

Well Done to Two Graduates Charlotte Miskell & Daniel McClelland from Salford University who have secured roles Touring in Education with Impact Universal Ltd. they start touring in November 2009.

We have Adult Actors that have secured Corporate Work for the General Medical Council.

We have artists that will be starting their roles in Pantomimes soon they will be performing in various venues throughout the country. 

Good Luck to Charlotte Miskell & Jennifer Carr who have auditions for ‘Emmerdale’ in the next few weeks.

  • LICENSED CHAPERONES
If any Parents or Pupils over the age of 18 years are interested in becoming a Licensed Chaperone for the Agency, then you have to get an application form from your local council.  The local authority has a list of licensed chaperones, you can be asked to chaperone other children from other agencies in the area.
It is paid work and can be interesting if you enjoy working with children.
